About Residents for Resilience (R4R)
Residents for Resilience (R4R) is a Fort Lauderdale-based nonprofit bringing four critical water issues to the forefront of public awareness: safe, clean drinking water; flood mitigation and storm resiliency; and the restoration of our priceless waterways and marine ecosystems across South Florida.
Founded by Suzee Bailey, R4R focuses on filling the information gap between scientific experts, government agencies, and the community—because it’s hard to care about what you don’t know about. By making complex issues such as water quality, sea level rise, and climate resilience more understandable, R4R empowers residents, businesses, and community leaders with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions.
Through collaboration with engineers, scientists, and policymakers, R4R provides clear, science-based information and promotes practical, nature-based solutions that strengthen infrastructure, protect public health, and support long-term environmental and economic resilience.
R4R engages the community through public outreach, educational events, and partnerships—including efforts supporting water quality awareness with organizations such as Miami Waterkeeper—helping to ensure a more resilient and sustainable future for South Florida.
Together, We Can Make Waves of Change.
